Staycation This Year? Fugettaboutit!

Have rising airline costs and and talk of a sluggish economy convinced you to “staycation” (stay at home rather than go on vacation) this year? Well, fugettaboutit! There are trips to be taken, places to go, destinations to see. Truthfully, this has been one of the busier summer’s my business has had.
I find that my clients still want to travel, they are not willing to put their lives on hold. Now, some may be interested in more economical options, but they have funds earmarked for their getaways.

Here’s one that may peak your interest! Sandals is offering a “Fly Free Offer” to fight the staycation trend. Beginning July 18, Sandals is offering a limited-time “Fly Free Promotion” that gives clients who book a minimum three-night stay by Aug. 31 an air credit of up to $550 per person. This is valid at all 12 resorts and air credits do vary per resort. Travel dates from 7/18 - 12/20 (blackout dates do apply.)

Outrigger Waikiki Hotels Offer Golf Packages

Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach and Outrigger Reef on the Beach hotels on Oahu are offering a new golf package. With prices beginning at $285 per night, the “Beachfront Golf Package” includes accommodations at a hotel overlooking Waikiki Beach, plus one or two rounds of golf per day at the Royal Kunia Country Club. No minimum stay is required. Designed by architect Robin Nelson, the 7,007-yard, par-72 Royal Kunia course boasts rolling fairways lined with palms and native flora, and views of Pearl Harbor and the City of Honolulu. The course is challenging but fair, with ample bunkering and the occasional water feature. The golf package is customizable for one or two golfers per room. Prices vary, depending upon dates of travel, hotel and number of golf rounds. Prices are valid through Jan. 4, 2009, based on single or double occupancy, and subject to applicable taxes, availability and change. Additional restrictions may apply.

ResortQuest Hawaii is offering a new collection of private homes, cottages and villas. The six properties are fully equipped homes and estates. The Kaua’i Harbor House features three-bedrooms with three baths on a two-acre landscaped property. The Waimea Plantation Cottages Kruse House & Manager’s House is a two-story, five bedroom, fully air-conditioned home and each bedroom has a private bathroom. Each bedroom also features a private entrance that can be secured for additional privacy. It is a two-story, 4,000 square-foot, five-bedroom, four-bath furnished plantation home. Sandy Lane resort on the western coast of Barbados is emphasizing destination weddings and honeymoons. Guests may choose to arrive at the luxury resort in the property’s Bentley and are welcomed with a chilled towel and tropical drink, personalized in-room check-in, twice-daily maid service, round-the-clock room service, and beachside service - including sunglass cleaning, Evian misting, refreshing sorbets and fresh fruit. Sandy Lane’s guest rooms average 900 square feet.
