Gutsy Women Travel is offering a six-day “Savannah’s Style & Charleston’s Charm” tour. With departure dates of April 18 and Oct. 8, the tour is priced from $1,799 per person, double, land only. “This continues to be one of our most popular domestic programs as it has been designed to include everything women love to do in a short period of time: visit historic plantation homes and gardens, see artists’ studios and take carriage rides,” said April Merenda, the wholesaler’s president and co-founder. “We’ve found that many of the women who participate in this tour are indeed married, but they come with their mothers, daughters, sisters or friends because they know it’s more of a female-oriented trip. Our focus here is to provide plenty of Southern charm and lots of fun.” The package includes two nights at the Marshall House in Savannah, three nights at the Mills House in Charleston, five breakfasts, two lunches, two receptions, one dinner, transfers, a tour director throughout and other amenities.

Beaches Resorts announced 2007 dates for its fifth annual Single Parent Fun (SPF) program. With millions of single parents residing in America, Beaches Resorts hopes to encourage those individuals to take a much-needed break and vacation of their own. From May 1-31, 2007 and Aug. 17-Oct. 31, 2007, Beaches will waive the single supplement (of up to $180 per night) for parents traveling with children and implement its popular SPF activities at all four Beaches Resorts in Jamaica and Turks & Caicos. SPF activities include Single Parent Welcome Receptions, Single Parent Social Cocktail Receptions, Kids’ Movie Nights and more, allowing parents to spend one-on-one time with their children during the day and engage in adult conversation and fellowship at night. The SPF offer is available at Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort & Spa, Beaches Negril Resort & Spa, Beaches Sandy Bay, and Beaches Boscobel Resort & Golf Club with a three-night minimum stay and is combinable with Beaches’ current 25 percent off sale for 2007 travel. Celebrity Cruises Names Third Solstice Ship Eclipse
Published on: January 10, 2007

Celebrity Cruises has chosen the name Celebrity Eclipse for the third ship in its new, 118,000-ton Solstice-class. The Celebrity Eclipse will make its maiden voyage in 2010, following sister ships the Celebrity Solstice in 2008 and the Celebrity Equinox in 2009, bringing the Celebrity fleet to 13 ships. Like its sister ships, the Celebrity Eclipse will have larger standard staterooms, 90 percent of which will be outside and 85 percent of which will have verandas. The 2,850-guest ships measure 1,033 feet long and 121 feet wide. German shipbuilder Meyer Werft will build the new tonnage. “Our brand is in a period of significant growth and momentum, and our new Solstice class exemplifies that expansion in an incredibly exciting way,” said Dan Hanrahan, the cruise line’s president. The announcement of the Celebrity Eclipse comes just one month after the news of the Celebrity Quest, the third ship in the line’s “Celebrity Expeditions” class of smaller ships designed to round out the brand with tailored-to-market products in exotic locations.
