Crystal Cruises has scheduled health and wellness specialists from the renowned Cleveland Clinic to sail on eight cruises this year. As part of the Creative Learning Institute enrichment program, guests can participate in complimentary interactive classes and workshops led by top physicians from one of the country’s most prestigious medical centers. About three classes will be scheduled on each cruise, ranging from managing headaches and arthritis while traveling through Northern Europe to tips for a healthier golf game aboard a transatlantic crossing. Crystal also provides a “Travel Tips from the Cleveland Clinic” section on its website under “Before You Sail.” Advice includes “Food and Water Considerations While Traveling,” “Immunization Considerations When Traveling Abroad,” “Overcoming Jet Lag,” and “Traveling with Asthma.” A sampling of the health and wellness cruises follows. The Feb. 25-March 4 Mexican Riviera roundtrip from Los Angeles focuses on health, wellness and prevention and features Dr. Michael O’Donnell, director of the Department of Health and Wellness. The June 10-20 Baltic cruise from London to Stockholm features Dr. A. David Rothner, who will discuss neurology and headaches. Rheumatology issues are the topic on the June 27-July 11 North Cape cruise from Copenhagen to Stockholm that features Dr. Gary Hoffman, chairman of the Department of Rheumatic and Immunologic Disease. The Aug. 31-Sept. 14 transatlantic crossing from London to New York features Dr. A.J. Cianflocco from the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, who will discuss management of osteoarthritis of the knee, the mature athlete, exercise prescription, and healthier golf. Fares start at $1,890 per person, double occupancy.
